Waffle roof is a new and modern structure that has been welcomed by engineers due to its economic and technical advantages, and it is most widely used for building high roofs with large openings. Waffle is made by reinforced concrete and has a grid and window-like appearance. The waffle roof is double-sided. In the two-sided waffle roof, the beams are placed vertically, as a result, in this type of roof, there is no need for middle beams and it behaves like a double-sided slab.

One of the most important advantages of this type of roof is reducing the dead load of the building, reducing the amount of concrete and rebar used, implementing long openings between the columns, and using it as an expose in some areas such as the parking lot due to the appearance of the lower surface.
